SIKI MGABADELI

Siki Mgabadeli is a freelance financial and current affairs journalist and much sought-after moderator and facilitator in South Africa. She also anchors the annual GSM Association’s World Congress (Global Systems for Mobile Communications) in Barcelona as well as their ‘Connected Women’ summits.

She has facilitated and moderated panel discussions for the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, the IBSA Editor’s Conference in India and the African Green Revolution Conference in Oslo, Norway. Add to that too many government and corporate events to count, both in South Africa and abroad.

The former daily anchor of the ‘The SAFM Market Update with Moneyweb and the nightly business show ‘Moneyline on eNCA’, Siki also hosted eNCA’s “The Big Debate”, which earned her the titled ‘African Journalist to Watch’ from YouTube.

This acclaimed TV and radio personality has also twice been named the ‘Sanlam Financial Journalist of the Year – TV’ and she was included in the ‘Mail & Guardian Book of South African Women’

Siki won the acclaimed ‘Telkom ICT Journalist (TV) of the Year’ Award’ and her alma mater, Rhodes University, presented her with the ‘Emerging Old Rhodian Award’ for 2015 in recognition of her role as one of the leading public voices on finance in South African media.

She holds an Honours Degree in Journalism from Rhodes University and is currently reading for her Masters in Journalism and Media Studies at Wits University.
