Wazi Kuneni – JHB
Hailing from Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, Wazi pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at Rhodes University before fearlessly stepping into the creative arts. Since the beginning of her standup comedy journey in 2018, she has captivated audiences with her unique comedic flair and impressive performances.
In 2021, Wazi Kuneni debuted her standup comedy special, “Dawn,” and has since toured across South Africa and internationally. She is also the visionary behind the popular “Women Who Kill” comedy showcase, which has graced numerous theaters and festivals. Her trailblazing efforts earned her the distinction of being the first woman to win the Newcomer award at the prestigious Savanna Comics Choice Awards in 2023.
Wazi Kunene’s presence in the comedy scene continues to grow with her viral social media sketches and her work as an MC.
